Bread Street Kitchen

A few weeks ago, my sister convinced her son that he was going to get some pancakes at a “fancy” place. Guess where she picked?

Bread Street Kitchen.

Yup. You heard me. We were going to a Gordan Ramsy restaurant. For pancakes. I’m not sure which is scarier. That Gordan Ramsy makes pancakes or that we were actually going to step foot in a restaurant like that.

I have to admit though, I was quite impressed with their service. First of all, they knew that there were going to be two young children with us. So a children’s menu was provided which included a chef’s hat, coloring pencils and an activity book. However, the children’s menu did not include the pancakes that my nephew specifically wanted so we had to order from the adult’s menu instead. I had a turkey muffin while my sis had the breakfast plate. The pancakes were actually pretty good but the nephew wasn’t terribly impressed with the soggy bananas. I thought my turkey egg sandwich was pretty good, but I’m not sure its worth its $20 price tag. My mother, on the other hand, seemed to rather enjoy her poached egg with hollandaise sauce.

All in all, its was a rather pleasant experience. The staff were really pleasant, the ambiance was nice, the food was better than average and we all had fun. That said, it was a rather expensive experience and one that might require a special occasion before we can revisit.
