London at night

Big Ben
Big Ben at night

I worked on my personnal statement all day yesterday and decided to meet up with Aussiegal at her church. Free wine and mince pies were offered and I could not resist.

It seems like her issues with the bf are temporarily solved. *fingers crossed*

Then we decided we were going to walk around the river bank and slowly make our way to the winter fest in Hyde Park. We saw the dragons guarding the city. London is technically only 1 mile across so there are all these dragons around the city telling you when you are in London, and when you have left it and entered Westminster or Islington, etc. We walked past the Somerset House (did not see the ice skating rink), then went to Tralfagar Sq to see the Christmas tree. We stayed for a couple of carols and then started walking towards Bukingham Palace (IN THE RAIN!). Then we made our way through the park to Hyde Park to take a look around the Winter Fair. I’m was surprised by all the fun houses (aka scary houses) even during Christmas! All in all, not a bad way to spend the evening despite the wet soggy feet I suffered from the unrelenting rain.

I've been swinging from place to place looking for new adventures every day.
