Every morning, on my way to work, Tony greets me with a cherry wave and a “looking good hun” greeting. Starting this week, I will no longer enjoy the pleasure of seeing his sunburnt leathery happy face as he sells his newspapers and trains the little puppies that always head towards him on their daily morning walk.
Poor Tony got forced out of his neighborhood newsstand by STLNews. Now, currently the main distributor of newspapers in ST. Louis. They raised their prices so much that they cut into poor Tony’s profits. In the past he was making about $120 per week, but with all their manipulations, he’s only making about $100 a week. He simply could not hold on.
From now on, I’m no longer going to buy any more newspapers in St. Louis until this wrong has been righted.
